Remote Access Configuration

Internet Service Provider (ISP) vs. Campus Dial-up
Campus Dial-up

All registered students are assigned a free account on UCF's campus network, which provides them with Internet access, an e-mail account, and space for a personal home page on the World Wide Web. However, the number of dial-up lines available is limited, and therefore we recommend students obtain their own private account from an Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Internet Service Providers (ISP)

There are many national and local Internet Service Provider companies from which to choose. Typically, they offer local dial-up (no long distance), e-mail, and disk space for a home page for a flat fee, usually around $20 per month. Consult your local telephone book for a list of ISPs near you.
